In my first team academic project, I was assigned the role of 'Gameplay Designer'. I was tasked with designing the systems and mechanics and the levels of the game.
Designing the basics
During the designing phase, we were challenged by the lecturers to design a card game that did not use numbers to deal damage to enemies.

We conceptualized this by having the player cure sicknesses on the board rather than traditionally dealing damage. With the assistance of the tech lead, a digital proof of concept was made to prove the concept.


Various team members and participants playtest the game.

Afterwards, to ensure the mechanics and systems added into the game are robust, a simple paper prototype was made to rigorously play test each new cards added and new mechanics added into the game.
